The Forintos bastion
Captain Jurisics had a trustworthy shot-firer in the great Ottoman Siege 1532. Mátyás Forintos protected this very bastion and so the whole western townwall against the turks, as he made a crucial contra-action against the turkish miners, who wanted to destroy the castlewall with tricks and secret explosion. The Bastion and the living memory of the alert Mátyás Forintos shows the heroic efforts of the Kőszeg inhabitants to defend their towns through the historic storms of the centuries.
