1. The 200 Year Old Wild Pear Tree GPS: 47.323065 / 16.568016
We can take a good rest at the base of the old wild pear tree which diameter is 1 meter and 15 meter high. The 200 year old protected tree provides an unforgettable experience with its monumental branches and its crown especially during flowering. It is a nationally listed wild pear which is of the gene pool conservation fund. Formerly the the villagers brewed vinegar out of the fruit of the tree. The root shoots under the pear tree were dug up and new bred pear grafts were grafted into it. In the 1930s it served as a meeting point. That’s because the traffic between the mountains of Pöse and Csömöte took place on this road and they often stopped to rest on summer days under the spacious crown. Next to the tree there is a resting place nowadays too. We start our road on the asphalt road next to the plant of Schott Hungary Kft. of Lukácsháza. We continue on a dirt road all the way to the foot of the Csömötei Hill. We can leave our car here and after 100 meters we can reach the tree. If we left our car at the Holdfényliget we can find it on the dirt road.
2. Csömöte Lookout Tower and Mountain Cellar GPS: 47.329047 / 16.563220
A 12-meter-high lookout tower made of larch has stood on the hill since 2010. The 150-year-old wine house next to it is cared for by the Wine-Friendly Ladies of Lukácsháza. The vineyard hill, where the lookout tower stands, belonged to the area of Nagycsömöte. From the lookout point, a red triangular road leads to the village and to the railway station of Lukácsháza.
3. Holdfény Liget Adventure Park GPS: 47.318618 / 16.5673633
The adventure park has a ZIP line, a small forest railway, a climbing wall, an e-monsterroller, a giant swing, archery, an adventure trail, a playground and many other unique, special games and equipment for children and adults alike. The adventurous, magical Holdfény Liget can be found in Gyöngyösfalu. It was created by four nature-loving young people who created it in the spring of 2006 with the smallest details in mind. This is a uniquely beautiful set of facilities, where everyone from tiny children to grandmothers can find the leisure activity and program that suits them. This garden which is kneaded with fire and water, stone and metal surrounded by trees offers a place for people and families who are looking for peace, relaxation, camping and special sports activities. It gives an opportunity to all the sports enthusiasts to try out a variety of exciting tools and spend some active hours, days or weeks away from the noise of the city so that they can return to the everyday life charged with the energies of the Sun and the Moon. It is possible to rent 8, 3 person reinforced rubber-walled canoes for on the water of the Gyöngyös brook, through a beautiful landscape, for an easy, about 2-hour, more active water tour with a regulated shoreline.
