The lakes on the border of Kőszeg and the surroundings of the Gyöngyös stream meandering next to them are excellent excursion places, fishing paradises and bird watching places. Our pets can enjoy the dog beach. The 160-hectare water surface of the Abért Lakes is located on the border of Kőszeg in a wonderful environment, with the Kőszeg Mountains in the background. It was handed over on October 12, 2010. After the handover, the place quickly became a local excursion destination. Many come here for cycling, jogging or enjoying the harmony of nature. The Gyöngyös stream feeds the first Abért lake, which supplies water to the second Abért lake through a river, then it flows into the Gyöngyös stream again. The water quality of the lakes is excellent, just like of the feeding stream. The islands formed in the lakes, in addition to the excellent bird habitat, also serve the natural reproduction of fish by the small bays covered with vegetation. A fishing permit can be applied for from the Vas County Association of Sport Fishing Associations. Fishing competitions are held several times a year, during which individual catches of around 30-40 kilograms are not uncommon.

Open-Air Ethnographic Museum - a monumental row of cellars commemorating the once flourishing vine, wine and fruit culture. "The small village of Alpokalja has become famous all over the country for its row of listed cellars. The eight thatched cellars and a cellar with a renovated thatched roof were built in the early 1800s, the oldest in 1778. The buildings are also wine cellars and press houses with a base beam, a harrow wall and a protruding roof structure, which were used to process grapes, to keep wine from one harvest to another, and to store fruit. On the hillside above the cellars, phylloxera destroyed the vines in the early 1890s. The vineyards were replanted in the far reaches of the mountain, but the old buildings were still used for processing. At harvest time, farmers transported the harvested grapes here by carts. The part above the cellars was used as a meadow, where wooded chestnut forests developed. The once large chestnut forest has shrunk to a small size today. Some cellars are equipped with viticultural equipment, with different types of grape presses.
The cellar row is open as an open-air museum from April 1 to October 31.
